Organic is Non-GMO

Organic is Non-GMO

Certified organic product is automatically non-GMO!

However, non-GMO verified certification does not address actual farming practices.

USDA Certified Organic regulations prohibit any genetically modified ingredients and toxic chemicals. This is because farming practices have a large direct impact on the environment, taste and nutrition of food. Above all, Copra works hard to nurture Ratchaburi, Thailand. In other words, an agricultural powerhouse with its dark mineral-rich soil, abundant water and year-round sun.

1. Organic farming maintains healthy soil.

Like in any ecosystem, what goes around comes around. First, green coconuts have a thick, hard shell that protects it from the elements and pests. For instance, toxic pesticides aren't needed to protect the fruit. Our farmers give back to the soil by planting banana trees and lemongrass to create a biodiverse ecosystem.

2. Organic and non-GMO foods taste better.

Genetically modified foods have historically been bred for commercial sales rather than taste. For example, a concern like surviving long transport times taking importance. Luckily, coconuts have never been genetically modified because they are perfectly adapted to their environment. Copra is further committed to taste by sourcing exclusively Nam Hom coconuts that are grown in lush plantations.

3. Organic foods are more nutrient-dense.

Healthy soil = more nutrients. GMO, non organic crops are typically grown in monocultures. As a result over-relying on toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers for maximum yield. Consequently, the soil becomes nutrient deprived after continuous growth of one crop without being replenished with organic matter. In comparison, Copra coconut trees naturally grow in groves. Our farmers intersperse them with other fruit trees and shrubs. Lastly, letting natural weeds grow that contribute to thriving soil.

We aim to do our part to protect our planet and community. Using organic farming practices to (re)cycle resources, promote ecological balance and conserve biodiversity. Best of all, farmers aren't exposed to herbicides and pesticides all day! Learn more about us here.
